Legal
Privacy, in plain words.
We collect as little as we can, we do not track you, and we never sell your information. Here is exactly what we hold, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: June 2026.
Who we are
The people behind this site.
MakeClear is a brand communication studio operated by Elmspark Consultants (Kenn Jordan), based in Wexford, Ireland. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@makeclear.co.uk or through the contact page.
What we collect
As little as possible.
When you get in touch, whether through the contact page or by email, we keep your name, email address and message, so we can reply and follow up. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and taking the first steps toward working together.
We also keep basic, privacy-friendly usage figures, such as which pages are viewed and where visits came from. These are gathered on our own server, kept in aggregate, and are not used to identify you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding what is useful.
Cookies
None that follow you.
We do not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, and you will not see a cookie banner, because we do not need one. We are not watching you around the web.
Who we share it with
A short list, on our instructions.
A small number of trusted providers help us run the site and deliver email. They handle your information only to provide their part of the service, on our instructions, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Only as long as it is useful.
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your query and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Usage figures are kept in aggregate.
Your rights
Your information stays yours.
Under UK and EU GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email hello@makeclear.co.uk and we will help. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC), or for UK visitors, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Sending data abroad
Protected if it travels.
If one of our providers stores data outside the UK or the European Economic Area, that transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes
If this changes, you will see it here.
We will update this page if our practices change, and refresh the date at the top. If anything here is unclear, please ask. We would rather you understood it than waded through legal jargon.
